We currently use a combination of LDAP and Jira Internal Directory for users.
We've just recently upgraded our Jira and Confluence Server versions.
Jira went from 7.18.x to now on 8.22.2, and I've noticed a handful of ~40 users are now duplicated when grabbing from the rest API.
When @mentioning in a comment on an issue, it shows the duplicated users there, but when I go into User Management and do a search for any of the duplicated users, only the LDAP directory appears, not internal directory.
I'm not really sure how to proceed here to remove the duplicates. Any help is welcomed!
The answer for anyone still searching is you need to change the primary directory over to internal. Keep in mind, any duplicate users will now switch groups/permissions based on the Internal directory while this is active. Recommend doing this after hours or during a maintenance. From here you can delete users (only internal directory), then switch back to your LDAP/AD Directory.
@Daniel Steffano , brilliant. This has been plaguing me for sometime, but your solution worked perfectly. Thank you.
