How can I find and display the date a story went into a particular status like "In Progress"?

How can I find and display the date a story went into a particular status like "In Progress"? "resolutiondate" has the date a story was resolved but I can't find a field like that for "In Progress". I can't used "updatedDate" because that changes with every update. Ultimately, I would like JQL that would display the resolution date in the results.

It's logged in the history, but that's hard to get to in JQL etc. I often use scripted fields to pull it out for display.
