I hope this message finds you well.
I would like to bring to your attention an issue I’ve encountered with Jira that is affecting my workflow. Specifically, [briefly describe the issue or complaint—e.g., "the filter functionality does not display comments in the comment column, even though they are available on the tickets."].
Description: I am experiencing an issue with the filter functionality in Jira. When using a specific filter, the comments are not appearing in the comment column, although they are present in the individual tickets. This is causing difficulty in tracking discussions related to tasks.
Steps to reproduce:
This issue is impacting our team’s ability to track conversations efficiently.

welcome to the community!
I trust that you'll be able to sort this out with Atlassian Support. Just in case you're looking for an immediate resolution: If you're open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, you may want to have a look at the app that my team and I are working on, JXL for Jira.
JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your issue fields, much like you’d do in e.g. Excel or Google Sheets. It also comes with a number of so-called smart columns that aren’t natively available, including the first/last comment, the first/last commenter, the time since the first/last comment, and many, many more.
This is how it looks in action:
As you can see above, you can easily sort and filter by your comment columns, and also use them across JXL's advanced features, such as support for (configurable) issue hierarchies, issue grouping by any issue field(s), sum-ups, or conditional formatting.
Any questions just let me know,
Best,
Hannes
