Is it possible to assign a ticket to an external email address?
It would be great if Jira would send the ticket to this external email address and would accept a reply as comment...

No, it isn't possible right now. You have to assigne to existing JIRA users.
thanx. just noticed the "share" functionality which (at least) let's me send an issue to an external email... this will help a little bit...
