Does ServiceDesk use the Jira home folder and MySQL database or its own

Hi,

We have been using Jira for some time and wish to evaluate ServiceDesk.  I have cloned our Jira instance for this trial.  When installing ServiceDesk we created its own MySQL database and home folder.  But it is not working.

Does it need to use the existing Jira MySQL database and home folder?

Hi PBT Admin,

If you went to the Versions and Licensing page to install Service Desk it will use the same database and home folder as your initial JIRA install.  If you downloaded the stand alone Service Desk application it will use it's own database and home folder.

When you say it's not working do you mean it won't start? If that is the case you'll want to review the JIRA_HOME/log/atlassian-servicedesk.log for further information as to why and go from there.

Cheers,

Branden
