My team has a long list of options we've input into a Custom Checkbox Field. When opening the dialog box to create story, epic, subtask, etc... the list takes up 75% of the form displaying all options; however, after you save, the field is then condensed to a multi checkbox dropdown list. Is there any way to have this view be the default whenever viewing a checkbox custom field?
Dialog Box View: (what we don't want)
Edit Issue Screen: (What we want as default)
Hello Bradley,
Welcome to Atlassian Community!
When using a next-gen project or enabling the new view for classic projects, currently, the "Create Issue" screen still uses the old view. So the renderer of the Description and the fields when creating a ticket are different.
With that said, while the new view is not implemented for creating tickets, the checkbox will show as the first screenshot and only when editing an issue will show the new view with the drop-down to select the options.
Based on your request, I created a feature request suggesting the implementation of this view for creating tickets:

I know there are many factors in how a product is managed, but the idea that Jira's leadership would roll out a new renderer, but not take the time to ensure it can be applied uniformly is crazy to me. User experience is absolutely crucial in a product like Jira and an ever-growing stack of inconsistencies and concerning choices like this are making it harder for users to do their jobs, and significantly harder for me to recommend Jira over its competitors.
And then the idea that the request to make the renderer uniform was considered "low" and has since been closed? Yikes. I'm starting to wonder if it might be worth the cost of switching away from Jira for our organization.
