Changing domain and user IDs

I wanted to check and see if anyone have experience with changing domain and user IDs, and how that affect the Atlassian products. We are changing user IDs from 5 - 6 character to firstname.lastname at the same time as we are switching to a new domain. We are looking into using Crowd and alias in order, but wanted to see if someone else have done this before.

Okay, found out the answer, in case someone else is looking for it. The way of doing it is to first do the renaming of user IDs in the existing domain, sync it to JIRA (or any other Atlassian tool), migrate over to the new domain, and add the new domain as a new user directory in JIRA.
