I have received a request from the user. As a Jira admin , I need help on below steps:

1) Change in Jira tickets workflow for  Project :- Issue  Type: Story, Bug , Epic, Precondition, Task, Test Execution , Test Plan , Test Set, Sub-task (all in the DEV 1.2 workflow)

2)  New status: "Info Needed from Requestor" >> Can be reached after the status "To Do", "Ready to Dev", or " In Progress" >> From "Info Needed from Requestor", should be able to reach "To Do", "Ready to Dev", or " In Progress"

3) Change status name: from "Completed" to "Deployed in INT"

4) New status: "Validated in INT" >> Can be reached after the status "Deployed in INT" >> From "Validated in INT", should be able to reach "Deployed in INT"

5) Change status name: from "Closed" to "Deployed in PROD" >> Can be reached after the status "Validated in INT" >> From "Deployed in PROD", should be able to reach "Validated in INT"

Can anyone help me with this

Hi @Vidya VASUDEVAN

Find documentation on how to work with workflows here, work-with-issue-workflows

Best practices:

  • Create new flows and add them later to the workflow scheme
  • Create new statuses, don't rename statuses (unless you are sure the status is not used in another workflow)

Hi @Vidya VASUDEVAN , this seems pretty straightforward. I would creat a copy of the current workflow and edit the copy per the details you provided.

To copy/edit a workflow in company managed projects:

  • project settings > workflows
  • copy the workflow
  • find the new workflow in the Inactive workflow area - admin settings > issues > workflows > inactive
  • edit the workflow
  • once complete you can go back to your project settings > workflows and add your new workflow and associate to the desired issue types
