Can you use both Bitbucket and Github for different project boards?

Jessica Kowalewski March 11, 2021

I am currently working on migrating my team into Jira for software development. Current projects that we have are using Bitbucket to deploy code. I've created a new project board for other team members and they still want to use Github. I've read the steps to integrate Jira and Github, but I want to make sure that all other projects can continue to use Bitbucket. All documentation seem to refer to the integrating with Jira in a general sense and not on a project by project basis. Any additional information on this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jessica,

yes it is possible to have multiple Git-Services in one Jira project.

You can see it in the images of the "Code" feature documentation here, where they have repositories from multiple providers in the Overview.

In general I could find nothing contradicting the thesis that multiple git providers would not work for a single project. Note that setting up the integrations takes place on the system level rather than on individual project level - as different projects must be able to use different git providers so might single projects.

Further information that might be helpful:

Hope this helped a little.

Greetings

Gideon
