New to Jira Cloud, long time Jira user...
We just completed our first sprint in the Jira cloud. (woohoo) I selected "next sprint" for what to do with incomplete issues. None of them were changed to the next sprint.
I bulk edited the 92 issues & subtasks, setting the Sprint to the future sprint I want them in (next sprint, ID=2)
I see them all showing the expected sprint in the Issue Navigator, but the sprint in the backlog still says 0 issues.
None of these issues are in backlog status -- all were in a previous sprint in various levels of completion.
I've simplified the board query to show everything in this project -- no effect.
I have 3 teams waiting for this sprint board, and I'm out of ideas...!

I was able to get the issues into the sprint....
I don't exactly know the root cause, but I believe the board filter was eliminating the issues.
In the process of flailing around, I also modified the column definitions. The issue states were no longer assigned to the columns.
So when I "repaired" the board filter, I never went back to restore the columns. Once I did that, everything appeared. We're back in business.
My 1st rule of forums remains true: If nobody else is asking the question, it's probably my mistake...!
Thanks again, Trudy
Chris
Hello @Chris
I'm sure you've already tried refreshing your screen displaying the board, right?
Is this for a Classic project or a Next Gen project?
I've seen other posts in this community where folks have said that upon closing a sprint and indicating the unfinished issues should move to the next sprint, the issues did not actually move to the next sprint. I don't recall what the suggestions were, but you should search the community for those posts to see if they answer that part of your issue.
Could you possibly have 2 sprints in your JIRA instance with the same name but associated to different boards, and added them to the sprint for the other board?
Could you possibly have ended up with more than one field named "Sprint", by somebody defining a second custom field with the same name?

Hi Trudy, thanks for the quick reply!
I've refreshed the browser and gone to an entirely different browser -- all show the same.
This project is Classic Software.
I don't see a way to list the sprints that exist in in this project. However, if I rename the sprint, then all of issues have their sprints renamed as well. That tells me they're applied to the sprint I'm looking at in backlog.
I see no other fields named Sprint in this project.
Unfortunately, nothing in the forum seems to be quite the same as this.
So to refine the question, what conditions have to be met for an issue to appear in the sprint display in the backlog? From what I gather in the documentation, it's mainly just having the Sprint field set. I assume it has to match the board filter as well.
Are there any other conditions that could be blocking these issues?
Regards,
Chris

Hello Chris,
I'm stumped. The issues should be showing up in the sprint.
The only other thing I can think of is do you have a Quick Filter active that is hiding the issues?
