Create subtask fails with the following error. The Team field is not editable and is locked at a global level. (That makes sense, but this error does not.)
I have tried removing the Team filed from the create screen. The same error occurs.
Hello @Todd Lewis
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
In the Create transition in the workflow for Subtasks in that Project there may be a rule/validator that is requiring the Team field to be completed. In that case the workflow needs to be modified.
Thanks for the reply, Trudy.

Hello @Todd Lewis
If there are no transitions defined in the workflow for the issues in this project that would mean you can't change the status of the issues. That doesn't make sense.
Can you share with us the Workflow Diagram for this issue type in this project?

Thank you.
In the diagram, each arrow pointing to a Status lozenge is a Transition. You can click on them (when in edit mode for the workflow) to drill into the Triggers, Conditions, Validators, and Post Functions associated with the transition.
You need to examine the one between the black circle and the Backlog status to see if there is a Validate associated with it that is requiring the Team field to be filled in.
