Can I set custom field options to a list of system users?

Hi, I'm trying to create a custom multi select field that will use a subset of system users as its options. Is there any way I can specify this via the system, as opposed to manually entering each individual user? I was hoping there would be a clever JIRA method to specify to use a group as the items listed in the multi select. Thanks!
