Hi,
In the organization where I work, we are using the free version of Jira, which handles all project management for 2024. Before the free version expired, the organization acquired a one-year Jira license. Now we need to migrate the projects from the free version to the paid version or somehow update the free version with the acquired license.
I look forward to your response as it is very important and urgent to have a solution in order to continue managing our projects.
Hello @Zully Jinney Rios Pardo
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
You have spoken of having a free version that expired, and a 1 year license for a paid version.
Can you confirm for us if these are Jira Cloud products where Atlassian hoststs them for you (software as a service)? Or are these Jira Data Center products where you install the software yourself?
Can you confirm that you are still able to access your free instance?
With Jira Cloud if your free products don't expire unless you were using it only as a trial. In that case, if it did not expire so long ago that it has been permanently deleted, then you could pay for that same Jira instance to continue to use it. Expired/Inactive free instances may be permanently deleted if they are left inactive for an extended period of time.
So, whether or not you can move data from your previously free instance to a different instance first depends on whether or not you can still access your free instance.
Welcome to the Atlassian Community and congrats on your Jira upgrade!
Yes you can do this transfer, I think the thread here has the instructions you need:

If that doesn't work, or if you have any more questions just reply here and I'll do what I can to help.
Best
Mike
