Can I dynamically change the Native JIRA field - Assignee: when creating a new issue? Thanks!

I am creating a new JIRA issue using our plugin. I would like to se the Assignee: native JIRA field set by providing the user e-mail dynamicaly thorugh the custom JIRA filed.
