Hi
I would like to update a custom field throgh transition from resolved state to reopen state(transition's name is reopen issue). Is it possible in jira4.3.3?
This is possible with the Jira Suite Utilities Plugin, available here: https://plugins.atlassian.com/plugin/details/5048
After installing this plugin, a set of new workflow post-functions have been added (https://studio.plugins.atlassian.com/wiki/display/JSUTIL/JIRA+Suite+Utilities+Workflow+Post-Functions )
You then can add the "Update Issue Custom Field Post-Function" to the transistion from resolved to reopen.
Dear Tom.
I'm thank you for your answer. I download and install Jira Suite Utilities Plugin. It's fantastic.

Hi Ansar, great to hear that your problem has been solved! Could you mark my answer as the answer for your question? Thnx!

Hi Is there a way that I can make a custom field read-only with a post function? I did not see any APIs available for that in POST Function.

It's intensely frustrating to come here looking for answers, but only getting told to buy plugins.
Sometimes it feels like you ought to rename this site to "Plugin advertising" instead of "answers".

Any solution without paying?

I'm having the same conclusion.
Paying yearly 900$ to be able to write a date in a single field in a single workflow in a single transition is WAY TOO DAMN EXPENSIVE.
I'm wondering if customers are not better set in writing their own apps instead of coming to this forum after all :-(
Actually, that is Atlassian business model, get paid fees from marketplace vendors instead of integrating basic functionalities to the core products.

I'm facing another problem in using Jira Suite Utilities plugin. My manager wants me to create custom field that count the number of time that an issue is reopened and resolved(or closed) then reopened. Indeed he want to know how many times an specific issue is reopened.I create a custom filed Named it "Reopened Counter". How I can set it value to plus 1 throghe any reopen transition?

Hi Ansar, this would be a great new question, can you copy your post to a new question?
The answer you are seeking for is https://plugins.atlassian.com/plugin/details/292 ;-)

Or, if you need more flexibility, use this one: https://plugins.atlassian.com/plugin/details/43318
It's scripting, so you can write a postfunction, a validator or a condition and change it on the fly :) without knowing any jira internals.
Other plugins: https://plugins.atlassian.com/plugin/details/16346 (Jython), check this URL: https://plugins.atlassian.com/search/with?q=scripting&product=all
