Batching notifications on top of normal notifications

So the long and short of it is I have enabled batch notifications, assuming it would over write all email notifications but my users now get double...

example:

someone puts a comment in a ticket of mine and @ ref me.

I will receive an email saying 

You've been mentioned in this issue.

and an email as a batch notification 

Do I need to remove the settings in the projects notification settings?
