Backlog View: selecting 1 story results in 2 being selected.

Dave Paules October 2, 2024

I have been burned by this more times than I can count.

All stories on my backlog view are not marked. I mark a single checkbox, expecting that single story to be selected for moving to another sprint, back to backlog, etc.

NOPE! Jira decides select 2 stories: that one plus the story I was viewing.

Can JIRA PLEASE allow me, the user, to decide which stories I wish to select instead of auto-assuming and adding the 1 story I happened to be viewing?

Did we forget all UI design patterns that have worked for 40 years? Have you ever taken a poll and asked to check a bunch of boxes and the UI checked one you DIDN'T select? Please either turn this off or give me an option to disable this "feature"

Hi @Dave Paules

I feel your pain, however, I have not experienced this phenomenon as you describe it.  I would very much enjoy a video of it happening if you could produce one.
