Whenever an attachment is attached to an issue in Jira,I want to automatically create a comment.

The comment should be displayed the timestamp of the  attachment

Can anyone please help on how this can be done in Jira.

Thanks

Naveen

Dear Naveen,

When adding an attachment someone will be able to add a comment aswell, so what exactly do you want? Do you want the field to be optional/required.. or?

Friendly Regards,

Jeremy

Whenever an file is attached to an issue in Jira in that issue it will automatically create a comment with the name of attachment .

Hi @Naveen Kumar D P ,

I stumbled on this and wondered if automation may work such as pictured below.  I have not tested it and threw it together off a thought at almost 1am so it may be useless but through worth a share in case it twigs anyone else's thoughts or solves the issue.

I have the same issue.

This is a real deal breaker and quite old school

You can add multiple images or screen shots into issues BUT your comments are separate.

Therefore the developer does not know to which image your comment relates.

It should be organised as image/comment/image/comment if required, similar to slack
