I have setted the Assign Issues permission to a role, but it doesen't work.

This role does not have Edit Issues permission... is it necessary?

Thanks

Hi @Ramiro Justet

It shouldn't be necessary.

To confirm upfront:

  • Browse Projects: The user will need to be able to see the project / issues to assign users to them
  • Assignable User: The users being assigned will need this permission to allow them to be assigned to an issue in the project

Then, once you've provided the user(s) with Assign Issues permission:

  • Go to an Issue in that project
  • Look to the navigation buttons - next to Comment should be a button "Assign"
  • Press button, assign users

I tested this on Cloud without edit permissions and it worked fine. You can't inline edit the assignee as this does class as "editing" the issue - but the assign button is the workaround to that.

Hi @Ramiro Justet

Based on Omar's account which you've logged into - it appears he can both

  • Assign himself (the Assign to Me button under the Assignee field) and...
  • Assign to others (The Assign button to the left, near Comment and the workflow buttons).

He won't be able to inline edit as this is editing even for Assignee.
