Hello!
I'm hoping someone here might be able to help me figure out this problem I'm having.
I'm trying to create an issue type in my backlog that I've added to all my workflows, screens and schemes, but when I click on the issue type to create in the backlog, it only shows the "Story" , "Bug" , "Task" , and "Spike" when I have a few other issue types that should be displayed.
I can access the other issue types in my other jira projects, but for some reason, this project won't display them. Does anyone happen to know what setting might bec ausing that?
First check if this project you are talking about is team managed or company managed (that should be visible in the bottom left corner when you're looking at e.g a board in your project).
If it is team-managed, then be aware that this type of project does not share issue types with other projects. You'll need to manually add issue types there in Project Settings > Issue Types. Types you add there will be available in that project only.
If it is company managed, then check the issue type scheme your project is using from Project Settings > Issues > Types. An issue type scheme associates your centrally managed issue types with projects. And so, if projects use a different scheme, you may indeed see different issue type sets available across different projects. In that case, either switch the issue type scheme of your one project so it shares the same configuration with the other projects. Or add the missing issue type(s) to the project's scheme.
Hope this helps!
Thanks @Walter Buggenhout ! I appreciate the response!
So I went to the Types section for Issues within the project where I'm having the issue, but all issue types are associated with the correct scheme. I've attached an image for reference as well if that helps. I'm trying to create a TMYK issue type in the backlog, but only Bug, Story, Task, and Spike are available for me to choose from.

I just had the same problem. In order for an issue type to be able to be created from the backlog, it needs to have a status in the first column of the board.
Basically, you can only see the first column of the board from the backlog, so if you're trying to create an issue it needs to be mapped to the first column.
Happy to go through this more if you have a screenshot of your board configuration and/or the list of board columns and statuses.
