REST API access with Basic Auth is about to be deprecated in JIRA Cloud. Does this affect JIRA Server as well or will Basic Auth continue to work long-term? If Basic Auth gets deprecated in JIRA Server, what will the alternative be?

basic authentication is supported (did not see any deprecation notice yet)

https://developer.atlassian.com/server/jira/platform/oauth/ could be an alternative
