Performance tips for Jira and Confluence on the same network

Hello,

We have Jira Software Server and Confluence Server, which are installed on two different servers in the same network segment.

They are both served behind the same reverse proxy (which is on 3rd server in the same network, but facing the internet).

Currently the application links are configured through the proxied URL and I guess the packets are floating through internet routers, which certainly slows them down.

We are observing slow loading of pages in Confluence that contain many Jira links or dashboards from Jira issues.

I came across this KB - https://confluence.atlassian.com/kb/how-to-create-an-unproxied-application-link-719095740.html

Do you think there will be performance improvement, if we change the application links to bypass the proxy?

Knowing that majority of users are in the company network (not mobile or external), can you give some ideas how to improve the performance?

I was thinking about static routes to the proxy, but I am not big expert in networking.

All hints and tweaks are more than welcome.
