Not able to add the values to custom field

I am not seeing any option to Edit my custom field. I am seeing only Edit the Default Value option. I would like to add some values to the custom field. Please help me ASAP.

Hello there. 

I'm a bit confused because if the fieldtype is some sort of selector where you can set a number of predefined options beforehand for the user to pick from you should see the "edit options" link just under "Edit the default value".

Maybe you created your field with the wrong fieldtype?
