How to log work in Jira Service Desk Request Type

Hey Atlassian Community, 

In this use case, employees want to log work (which is not related to any jira issue) through a JSD Request.

Right now, there is a request type with start (time), end (time) and description. When such a time tracking ticket is created by a (logged in) employee, the agent will copy those values to an external system (like an excel sheet). 

I am looking for ideas, how this process could be automated - considering some rules for breaks or maximum worktime. 

I thought about using script runner to code it, but that seems pretty ineffective. Maybe there is a dedicated plugin that could help?!
