Jira Software 8.5 and Jira Service Desk 4.5 Enterprise releases for Server and Data Center are here

Enterprise releases are now called Long Term Support releases

As of June 29th, 2020, Enterprise releases are now called Long Term Support releases. The security bug fix policy for these releases was also updated - we will continue to backport critical security bug fixes and now when architecturally possible, all other security bug fixes are backported to the release for 24 months. To learn more about this change, view our Community post.

G’day Atlassian community!

The title says it all – we’re excited to share the first Enterprise releases on the Jira Server and Data Center 8 platform, for both Jira Software and Jira Service desk. The Jira Software 8.5 and Jira Service Desk 4.5 Enterprise releases are now available, and they bring with them a host of features, critical bug fixes, and a lightning-fast platform that have all been strengthened and subjected to additional performance and scalability testing. And for the first time, Jira 8.5.0 and 4.5.0 are certified Enterprise releases from Day 1.

Here are some resources you’ll need to plan your upgrade:

PS: We will be updating the Recently resolved issues dashboard on JAC to highlight issues resolved between Jira Software 7.13 and 8.5. We’re positively thrilled to share that we’ve resolved well over 10,000 votes from users affected by JAC issues between these releases, bringing the total since the 7.6 Enterprise release to over 15,000 votes!

Hi Sergey,

Thank you for reaching out. Based on the status under "fix version" for that issue, it is not resolved in the 8.5 Enterprise release. For more information about how we prioritize bugs reported on our public issue tracker, please see our bug fix policy.

We also have a dashboard on jira.atlassian.com which will showcase all issues resolved between the current (8.5) and most recent (7.13) Enterprise release, which you can find here:

Hi @LifeMap

Thanks for asking! Confluence 7.0 released on September 10, 2019. We are still determining which 7.x version to target for the next Confluence Enterprise release, but we hope to share more information by early 2020.

Thanks @Alex Lewis.

JRASERVER-69598 is Severity 2, Medium priority bug, which is still in the 'gather impact' status, while lower severity and priority issues are getting addressed, according to the roadmap. i18n seems like an important concern for an enterprise environment, yet this is not being looked at. What can we do improve the chances of getting that regression fixed?
