What can we learn?
In the previous Jira Image of the Day: Using Status Categories and Worst Jira Admin Contest: Multiple Green Statuses articles, we discussed the three different status categories and the impacts of using multiple workflow statuses in the “Done” status category.
When a workflow contains multiple statuses in the same status category, you’ll need to train people to use the right JQL. For example, if the query is Status = Done, only one issue is returned even though there are more issues that have reached the end of their lifecycle. As such, reports using this type of query may be misleading.
Instead, it’s safer to use to use a query like statusCategory = Done, which returns all issues in the green “Done” status.
