Automation Failing to Create Issue Error

Ertwyn Henry
March 31, 2023

I am using automation to create Linked stories to an epic it is working for all automation except one. I keep getting "Summary: You must specify a summary of the issue." even though I set one using smart values originally. Now I separated that task into its own automation and set the summary manually and I am still getting that message and the issue is not creating.

Hi Bryan,

Have you checked the field configuration scheme in the new projects you are trying to move the issues to?

1. Is the reporter field hidden by any chance?

2. Do the users of the current issues have access to the project?

3. If users are in a particular role, does that role have "Assignable User" permission.

To confirm the above , on your test instance associate the projects to same schemes (Permission , Field configuration , issuetype, etc).

Issue was #2 -- they didn't have access to new project. Thanks!
