Yash Pradhan March 22, 2024

we are adding one cascading custom field, but the values which we want to put are in 100+ values, is there any feasible option or file upload option where it can be added all at once.

Hi @Yash Pradhan

You can do this using an External System CSV Import.

You'll need to be a Jira Project Admin, and then...

  1. Go to Settings (cog icon in top-right) > System
  2. Select External System Import from the left-hand menu

---

You will need to set the CSV up as follows:

  • You need to upload one "dummy" issue per value
  • Summary field is a required field
  • For the Cascading Field, you need to have the value as "Alpha -> 1"
    • Alpha is the initial option
    • 1 is the sub-option
    • -> is required to show the parent/child relationship

---

You should then be able to upload all the options, then just clear/delete the dummy issues.
