News broke at the Unleash event in Berlin in February 2023 and later a banner appeared on the product page: Have Jira Software? Jira Work Management comes free with your Jira Software plan until March 2024.
My question is: do we have to start paying for Jira Work Management after March 2024 for each user that has Jira Software?
Currently, our users create and use "business projects" for non-IT operations. I don't see Jira Work Management listed as a product in the admin area and have been under the impression that it is always included for free with Jira Software.
Hi @Kalin U, we have an update on this question. Any customer who has a JSW license purchased while JWM is included will continue to have JWM capabilities included at no charge for the life of that contract term and for any subsequent renewals unless this policy is amended. We have no plans to amend this policy for the foreseeable future.
Very nice - thanks for sharing!!

Hi @Abby Stiris , thanks for the update - it is great news. Would the same apply to JSM? Thanks!

@Abby Stiris , yes, can you or the relevant team add the information from the comments here to the FAQ section of Jira Work Management - Pricing | Atlassian | Atlassian page, please?
If I understand your message correctly, as long as a Jira site has a subscription to Jira Software (or Jira Service Management if Jira Software is missing), Jira Work Management is included in the price of Jira Software or Jira Service Management (if Jira Software is missing).
Does this mean that new sites with JSW licences will also get JWM too included or this policy applies only to existing sites?

@Abby Stiris - At one point, I understood that JWM was a cloud-only product. Your statement, however, says that "Any customer who has a JSW license purchased while JWM is included will continue to have JWM capabilities" ... Does that mean Data Center (on-prem) has JWM included?

Thanks for your feedback everyone. We're working on more FAQs about this. @Kalin U right now, any new site with JSW or JSM Cloud licenses will get JWM included too.
@Kimberly Blum JWM is still only on Cloud, thanks for your question!

Hi @Kalin U,
Thank you so much for your participation in the Atlassian community!
It sounds like your organisation is using both Jira Software and Jira Work Management. We are doing further research on customers who use both Jira Work Management and Jira Software, and we would love to invite you to take part in an upcoming customer research study!
What’s involved in the research:
If you’re interested and would like to participate, please take this short survey https://www.userinterviews.com/projects/_EGjxvzWRA/apply.
If you’re eligible for the study, we will reach out to schedule a time that is suitable for you. (Alternatively, you can refer anyone who you think might be interested in the study!)
If you have any other questions at all, feel free to email me at mnagaya@atlassian.com. We look forward to meeting you!
Cheers,
Mika

Hi, @Mika Nagaya Yes, we do use both products. I filled in the qualification survey. Thanks for the opportunity to share our use cases.

Hi @Kalin U - what @Brant Schroeder outlined above is correct. To continue using JWM after March 2024, customers will be required to select a JWM plans. We have both a free and standard tier available today and will be exploring more tier and packaging options moving forward.

Should I be able to see Jira Work Management listed under Administration > Products, e.g. https://admin.atlassian.com/o/<organization>/products?

Hello @Loretta Brunette is this also true for Jira Service Management? That JWM will not be included with JSM anymore?

@Sam Nadarajan , Correct. JWM will be sold independent of both JSW and JSM.

Hi everyone, we have an update here. Check out my answer above and let me know if you have any questions.

@Kalin U You will have to have a license to use it after March 2024. If you have 500 software licenses but only use 100 JWM licenses then you would only have to purchase 100 licenses. As March 2024 gets closer I am sure additional details will be provided.

It will be interesting to see if there will be "collaborator" concept for JSW users like there is with JSM.

When is the last date in March 2024?

Hi @wlee-conga as @Abby Stiris answered above, we are no longer planning to separate JWM. There is another community post in https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Work-Management-Articles/Better-together-Jira-Work-Management-is-staying-included-with/ba-p/2489188 that explains more on this.
Great news: we’ve heard your feedback and removed the March 2024 end date. Jira Work Management will continue to be included with every Jira Software and Jira Service Management license — just like it is today. 🎉
I hope that helps to clarify here.

Is this promotion still valid to be able to carry out this activation?
