How long does an issue stay in the Done column in Jira Work Management?

MOLNAR, TRINA May 11, 2022

The last column in my work flow is Done.  How long do issues remain in the Done column?  Or is there somewhere to set how long they are in the column?

Hi Trina - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

The issue will stay in the Done column for two weeks.

Hi, John Funk!

Can I change this period?

Hi Beto - sorry, but no, it is not currently possible to change the timeframe. Please click the Give Feedback button on the bottom left of the project to let them know you would like to hide cards on a board on demand.

Hi John - Will it still be searchable once it is removed from the done column?

Hi Kerri - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Not on the board but on the List feature and/or through the Search box, yes.

Thanks! One more question - In Jira Software you can color code Epics...is that possible in Jira Work Management for a Team Owned board?

Unfortunately, no. Those boards are very static. But interestingly enough I JUST posted an article on creating a second board for JWM projects that would give you that flexibility. :-)

@John Funk  My sprint board is not showing the "done" issues for the 2 weeks, as you stated above.  Do I need to adjust a setting on my board?  TIA

Hi @Stephanie Glynn  - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

It's best to create a new question for your specific issue. What type of project are you using? Team-managed? Company-managed?

This is an awful design decision. We are testing this platform out and this is a big turn off. I don't need to be searching the net for quirks with this software. Who decided this was a good idea? What a mess.

Isn't this what a release is for, to move the items from done into the release?

This is for Business Projects not Software Projects. Releases would be done on the Software Projects.
