How do I reference a subtask Parent's custom field in an email automation rule?

The resulting email does not contain the parent's custom fields. Although, {{issue.parent.summary}} works fine. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Lets say, you have a custom field named 'Custom text' in the parent issue, you can get its value using the following syntax:

{{issue.parent.Custom text}}
