Epic/Task/Child issue

Hello,

I have an Epic in Jira Work Management that has various tasks linked to it. The Tasks have various sub-tasks created for it. I want to move a Task to in progress, however some of the sub-tasks are in progress, some are still in To Do and i want the To Do sub-tasks to stay there.

Any ideas how to do this?

Hello @Paul Logan 

Changing the status of a parent issue to In Progress does not automatically change the status of sub-tasks, unless you have added automation to make that happen.

However, in a Work Management project the subtasks will always display in the same column as their parent task, even if the subtask status is different.

As seen below, the status of the parent issue is "Z in Progress" while the status of its subtasks are "To Do"
