why is my scrum board not showing tasks encompassed within a story?

This is the view on Rally software, and the later image is from JIRA. I would like to view the tasks grouped by stories as in Rally, and not just as a list of tasks. Please let me know the configuration to be done. Thanks in advance.

Though I have added a new column, I did not map the statuses

Seems like what you're looking for is swimlanes based on Stories. To set them up, go to Board > Configure > Swimlanes and pick "Stories" from the dropdown. Note that this will work only if you use sub-tasks in your stories; from the screenshot you've provided, I can't tell if that's the case.
