user creating a ticket when he don't have permission.

i have restricted the user to not create a ticket for a particular project, in the permission level. Even though he can able to access and create a ticket.

Adding a bit of an explanation to what the others have said - you can't "restrict a user" in Jira.  Jira permissions are permissive, you grant the ability to do something.

That's why the other answerers are asking you to look at how you have granted the user the right to create, not your "restriction" (because there aren't any permission restrictions)

Hi @evenings session

There are several things you need to check. The permissions helper will do this for you. But if you want to, you can go through it yourself:

  1. Check if the person has any roles assigned in the project
  2. Check if the person is a member of any groups which have roles assigned in the project
  3. Then check the permission scheme for the project and see if the edit permission:
    1. includes the person specifically
    2. includes any roles the person is assigned, either individually or by a group
    3. includes any groups the person is a member of

Hi @evenings session  - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Go to the Permission Scheme for the project - make sure it is definitely the one used by the project and what you “think “ it is.

Then use the Permission Helper for that username and the Create Issue permission to see what it says.

Yes did it. still showing the same

What do you mean by it’s still showing the same? Did you grant that user create issue permission? If so, edit the permissions scheme and take them out

Hi @evenings session, and welcome to the community!

Can you give us more information about how you set up the permissions in the project, screenshots for example? Are we talking about a team-managed or company-managed project? :)

Best, Max

Hey, you did what? Use the permission helper? The user should not have the "Create issues" permission in that project, so make sure he's not in any group or role you assigned the permission to.

Best, Max
