"The user does not exist" error while Component Lead.

Was not able to find a defenitive answer to this question. We have server hosted version 7.3.0 of JIRA Software.

We have been using components for a while now, but recently tried to change the Component Lead of various components.

The search field works, where user list is populated, but on selecting a name it says user does not exist. Please suggest a solution or a work around.

Could be due to this bug. 7.3.0 is affected.
