problem creating issue of type "subtask"

Popke Rein May 6, 2021

When I create a new issue I can't select the type subtask. There is a notifcation that says: "Some issue types are unavailable due to incompatible field configuration and/or workflow associations."

I have checked the settings-> issues

- I have an issuetype subtask

- The project uses the global Issue type scheme; subtask is an option of the global scheme

- Subtask are currently turned ON

- I use the standard Jira Software Simplified Workflow

A solution or suggestion is much appreciated

Hello @Popke Rein

Welcome to the community.

Are you working with a Team Managed project or a Company Managed project? It will say in at the bottom of the navigation pane on the left.

In Company Managed projects the Sub-task issue type is not available in the Create Issue screen from the Issue Type pull-down field. A Sub-task issue must have a parent issue, so instead you go to the parent issue and select Create Sub-task button below the issue summary.
