jira user server

mwwang January 3, 2021

Hi,

I want to use the user directory of JIRA(XXXX:8091) to confluence(XXXX:18010), I'm run the servers in docker containers and the port number is changed.

How can I set the IP address in "configure other applications" on JIRA?

(the default is

127.0.0.1

@mwwang (Sorry I forgot to send this message yesterday)

There is the following doc in Atlassian Website, please check it and try their suggestions:

Let us know if you have any questions.

Hi,

Thanks a lot, I added a LDAP instead of jira user directory and placed the LDAP at the top, now we can login with the LDAP account.

@mwwang I am very happy to learn that it worked! LDAP is better as a long term option.

Make sure to have a local admin in the Jira internal Directory just in case.

Our LDAP had issues once, no one was able to access Jira.

All the best,

Fadoua

Yes, I have already keep one admin account out of the LDAP.

@mwwang

Do you mean Application Links? Are you looking to add Confluence from inside Jira so that you can make both Applications talk to each other?

Hi @mwwang ,

Login to confluence.

Server URL : 192.168.0.1:8080 (Replace with your IP and Port)

Application Name : Jira Username

Password : Jira Password

Connection Timeout : choose default is enough (5000)

Max Connections : Confluence users highest active number count in a day

Proxy Host :  any proxy server used , IP address

Proxy Port : Same as above

Proxy Server username and Password

Jira Server Permissions :

Choose "Read-only" for better safety.

Advanced Settings:

Hi,

I also do it as you said, but the Application Name and Password are not the JIRA user name and password, it should be the jira user server as I said in the topic.

I connect the jira user server with the error:

com.atlassian.crowd.exception.ApplicationPermissionException: Forbidden (403) Encountered a "403 - Forbidden" error while loading this page. client.forbidden.exception Go to Jira home

So I'm not sure if my configurition is right or I'm missing some configuration

 2.pngI also add the whitelist.
