how to include select2 4.0 in aui?

currently auiselect2 uses 3.x version of select2. Is there way via which I can configure it to use 4.x version of select2?

You could get the newest version and just include it in your project yourself without using the recommended way to include the resource key of the library in your plugin xml.

You just have to include the needed web resource whereever you need it.
