Workflow project role condition should let user transition but it doesn't

I have this workflow transition

image.png

It is active.

It is from open to resolve and it depends on whether the user is any three of the roles Admin, developers, or scientist

I have added myself to developers:

And yet I don't see the transition from open -> resolved

What setting am I missing?

Thank you in advanc

Hello @Fawaz Joseph

You updated the Default Role Membership. That is applied only when new projects are created. It doesn't update any existing project.

You would need to be added to one of the specified roles in the project itself.

However, I see that you have tagged your post to indicate you are using the Free version of the product. In the Free version of the product you cannot actually assign people to Roles in projects. All users that have access to the project are Administrators for the project without being assigned to the role explicitly. See

https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/what-is-the-free-jira-cloud-plan/

Since users are not actually assigned to roles, if you attempt to put a Role-based Condition on a Workflow that will actually block everybody from accessing that transition, because in the Free plan you can't assign users to any role.

Sorry for the late reply.

Thank you so much.

This actually made a lot of sense to me now
