Why can't I set the Assignee in a Create post action or Create automation?

I tried setting the assignee to a user in a Create post action, but the Assignee is unassigned in the first status.  I also unsuccessfully tried copying the Assignee from a custom user field, and the same two actions in an automation triggered by creation.

Hi @Phil Bustin ,

IF the automation assign a User, and its not updated... Be sure that the User who execute the Autoamtion Have Assign issue permisions, and the user who is assigned, have the Assignable issue permisions too
