Why can't Excel files downloaded from Jira filters be opened in Protected View anymore?

It's been happening for a few weeks now, and I've had to uncheck "Enable Protected View for files originating from the Internet" to be able to open them again (following the steps from this link), which I'm obviously not comfortable with.

Can you share a screenshot what link do you click and where to get the Excel file?

There is a built-in feature, several apps that generate Excel files, therefore we should identify which one you are using.

It's a link in the filter view:

Aham, this is the built-in Excel export feature.

If other Jira Cloud users don't see it, then it should be specific to you...

Can you try:

  1. Exporting from another PC (to test if the problem is specific to a local PC and the Excel installed to that)
  2. Exporting using another user account (to test if the problem is specific to a user)
  3. Exporting from Jira Cloud site (to test if the problem is specific to a Jira Site)

Little experiments like this could help narrowing down the source of the problem.
