When logging in to JIRA how to set a default location to log in to?

Deleted user August 6, 2018

When a user first logs in to JIRA can a default login location be set? For example: can they, by default, login to a specific project or dashboard?

Hi Jim,

You can change the landing activity (done user-per-user) from the Profile dropdown. The last item visited of that type will be what the user lands on when logging in.

If I typically use the WONKA board but last visit the HERSHEY board before logging out, I'll go to the HERSHEY board upon login.

We don't recommend making changes to the Velocity templates or using your reverse proxy as a way of forcing people to particular pages after login because of the complications it can create after an upgrade. That hasn't stopped some folks from coming up with some creative (but potentially unstable) workarounds for the default behavior.

Cheers,
Daniel
