Unable to create an Epic

 When I select Epic. I receive the following error message:

Epic Name: Epic Name is required.

The issue is the Epic name field is not displayed for me to enter in the  Name.

 The only fields I have displayed for Epic are as following:
Project 

Issue Type 

Summary

Why is it asking for a field that is not displayed for me to enter information?

Hi @[deleted] , you probably removed Epic Name field from your create screen.

You need to go to project -> Project Settings -> Screens -> Select required screen (for Epic issuetype) -> add Epic Name  field to the screen.

Share some screenshots if you need additional help. There can be more issues but this one is most probable :)

Hi @[deleted] - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

You need to add the Epic Name to the create screen you are using for Epics on that project. 

Go to Project Settings > Screens

Click on the screen scheme and then the screen. 

There you should be able to add the field.
