I am trying to create a dash board that displays the following

"All the tests under 1 epic that has many test sets with issue types = "Test" with in them

1 epic

10 test sets - linked to the epic

57 tests - these are not linked to the epic

I want to report against all the tests within the test sets against the epic is this possible ?

Hi @ssabir -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Which marketplace add-on are you using to provide those test set and test features?  Perhaps checking that vendor's documentation could help with reporting on dashboards.

If instead you do not have an add-on and have created issue types for test sets and tests, you cannot create a filter with out-of-the-box Jira to do 3-level reporting (epic, test set, test).  Instead you would need some marketplace add-on for JQL or for dashboard reporting.

Best regards,

Bill

Hi @Bill Sheboy

I am using X-ray, i have had a quick look at the documentation. But was hoping to see if it was possible before hand and see if there was any help with the JQL query

Hi @ssabir

I am not using X-Ray, so I'm trying to help by checking their docs...Looking over their documentation for JQL enhancements, there are none; only the added issue types and custom fields: https://docs.getxray.app/display/XRAYCLOUD/Enhanced+querying+with+JQL

So you would need one of the other marketplace JQL add-ons to build a query for dashboarding as you ask.  They do appear to have added some dashboard gadgets: https://docs.getxray.app/display/ON/Creating+reports+using+Gadgets

As an alternative, you may want to review the built-in reports from X-Ray to see if any of them would meet your needs: https://docs.getxray.app/display/XRAYCLOUD/Built-in+Reports
