Trigger for update status within 7 days

We want to set a timeframe for closing issues. When a issue is solved we want to close the issue after 7 days. 

Is that possible?

He will need some sort of automation or scripting add-on. Examples - automation for Jira or Scriptrunner

Do you have automation for jira? If yes, you can setup a rulle like in https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/automation-template-library/auto-close-jira-issues

If you have scriptrunner, you can setup a scheduled job to do the same like in https://docs.adaptavist.com/sfj/automatically-close-out-old-support-tickets-11993258.html
