Time Tracking with JIRA

Simon Bauer February 11, 2015

Hey everyone,

we want to use a time tracking system to track working times of our employees. For example when an employee enters the building in the morning, he checks in with his RFID chip and so on. So far, so good - there are plenty of good systems out there. Problem is: The management wants to check on these dates in JIRA. We're using Tempo for time tracking and I guess they want an entry in the Tempo sheet of a specific employee which says something like: "Mr. XYZ checked in at 08:00 today." and so on.

So my question is: If i use a time tracking device which stores its data in an xml-file or an SQL database or something like that, would it be possible to somehow include this data into the Tempo timesheets of our employees? And if so, how? Does anyone have a similar case at their company and could recommend a good system?

Kind regards, Simon.
