When I go on tempo to log my time, and I click on search issue, loads of tickets are coming up which have been closed. I don't to see them anymore I only want to see the tickets available to log my time under. I'm trying to clean everything up to make it easier for our team to log their time.
Any idea how I can show them only active issues and issues in the backlog?

When you're in the My Work Timesheet view, and click Log Time, you'll get this pop-up dialog window:
When you click in the Search issues bar, you'll have the option to Select Issue
Click the cog icon an you can use one of the standard filter or a Jira filter of your choice to search for active issues and issues in the backlog.
