Sorting by manually created groups in Advanced Roadmaps

Hi,

I have an advanced roadmap with the source of a filter: All the issues I want in this ARM show up because they have a label that mees the filter.

I then goto view settings of the roadmap and added Groups (designated by the folder icon):

The groups are below with group by = label and one label for each group. The group name does not match the jira label but I know the mapping.

1. delivery management

2. project management

3. Software Phase 1

4. Software Phase 2

5. Software Phase 3

6. Go Live

7. Post Go Live

My issue is they are showing up in the roadmap view like this:

4. Software Phase 2

1. delivery management

2. project management

3. Software Phase 1

5. Software Phase 3

6. Go Live

7. Post Go Live

This ordering is wrong and should be the 1-7 list not 4,1-7?

Inside the view settings the setup looks like this:

4

2

3

5

6

1

7

This means its not the order as shown in the view settings setup but some other sorting is being done? I thought putting a number at beginning would work but it has not.

What is the order of precedence for how these are ordered in the roadmap?

thank you

Chris

Hi @Chris Covert

I know this is very old, but did you ever get it sorted out? (pardon the pun). It's probably sorting on a date field. If you have the plan based on a filter, you should be able to modify the filter to include and ORDER BY statement.

Hi John,

I did not think about the order by, this may fix it. I got it fixed by deleting all the groups ,saving the view and then re-starting and this fixed it, but I do think your order by suggestion would work as well, as long as I prefix properly.
