Setting a WIP limit colour

We're on a company managed project, and have a WIP limit on our In Progress column. When the limit is reached, the column turns a dark shade of red. From an accessibility perspective, this isn't great and some of our users have commented on it.

It doesn't seem possible to set the WIP limit column colour in the same way as card colours. Is this correct, or am I missing something?

Correct this is not currently configurable. I was looking for a suggestion opened at jira.atlassian.com but did not find any such suggestion surprisingly. You might wish to click the Feedback button and provide that information to Atlassian.

However today (11/2023) the column color is light blue and for us the dark shadow of red would be better. Is it configurable nowadays?

Are there plans to make it configurable? 

I use a WIP limit (column constraint) and the column did in fact turn RED at some point when limit was reached and now it does not. I would prefer it turning red when the WIP is over.

If you want to try out some Partner Apps our Advanced Agile Boards have a flexibility to define WIPs for individual columns, group of columns, swimlanes and their intersections plus give slightly bigger variety of options for color coding.
