Service missing after upgrade to Jira 8.0

Oskar Hanberg February 15, 2019

Hi!

After upgrading to Jira 8.0 the service is missing so Jira will not start I have tried running service.bat as per the instructions provided here https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Software-questions/Jira-service-missing-after-upgrade-to-v8/qaq-p/1005186 but the installation is failing. Is there something else I can try? Is it possible to revert to a previous version and if so how would I go about doing that? (I have backed up the Jira Home directory)

I'm running Windows server 2012.

Hey Oskar,

Sorry you ran into this problem with the 8.0.0 upgrader. This is a known issue and tracked in JRASERVER-68865. I hope you were able to get Jira running manually after your upgrade (or that you were working on a test instance).

Going forward, this issue has been fixed in Jira 8.0.1 which was released this morning. If you are still having issues with the service not running, an upgrade from 8.0.0 to 8.0.1 should reinstall the service for you. The latest release is available at https://atlassian.com/software/jira/download

Cheers,
Daniel
